Drumming heartbeats and sweaty palms,
Try as he may to look as calm,
His amber cheeks and his running gaze
Are only two of his giveaways.
Behind her he slowly crept,
Behind him something he’d regret.
He thought of the reaction he’d get.
That’s when their eyes met.
She was just a child.
So cute, so fragile.
The boy handed her the rose,
And kissed her on the nose.
